FAQs
You Might Be Wondering...
Who is Renown for?
Renown is for anyone who wonders what their users actually think, but doesn't know where to start. You can create a survey and share it directly, or link to your survey portal from your product so that users have a place to give feedback whenever they want.
Renown also works great as a general-use form builder for any use case from gathering testimonials to collecting merch preferences for your company.
Why not use Google Forms or Typeform?
Traditional form builders like Google Forms, Typeform, and Jotform aren't built for doing user research with visuals. No matter your screen size, they constrain your image so that testers can't actually see any details. Renown displays your images as large as each screen allows so that testers don't miss a single detail. Additionally you can embed Figma prototypes or link to live websites for user research and our AI is specifically designed to follow user research best practices and avoid leading questions.
Why not use Maze or UserTesting?
Tools like Maze, Askable, UserTesting, and UserZoom are really cool, but they’re built for large teams with massive budgets and dedicated researchers. Renown is built for teams who just need quick insights from existing users or some initial signals from a group of testers. Create a survey in seconds or give your users a place they always know they can go to give their opinions with the dedicated survey portal.
Why is it called Renown?
Marketing reason? Because the best products become known not by being louder, but by staying curious, listening, and improving through feedback.
Actual reason? Renown started as a testimonial collection tool and when I pivoted to user research I kept the name.
